First Aid Course

Ambulance Service First Responders

A more intensive, lengthier course, we train you on how to provide life-saving first aid prior to the arrival of the ambulance. There are two distinct pathways available, depending on your role. Community responders are volunteers who attend emergency calls as directed by the ambulance service. They provide the necessary treatment before the ambulance can arrive, wherever the person is. Co-responders are members of the other emergency services who work in partnership with the Ambulance Service. Often, they might arrive at the scene earlier and need to be prepared to provide life-saving first aid.  We will provide you with the skills and knowledge to manage a huge variety of illness and injuries, giving you the confidence to control a difficult situation.

As part of the course you will receive a Care Certificate, which sets the standard for all social care and health workers in their daily work activities. It covers duty of care, information handling, mental health awareness, safeguarding and other crucial criteria for anyone regularly dealing with the public. This course is ideal for anyone looking to develop their career and progress to a higher-level health qualification.
